We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been named Bed Manufacturer of the Year (under £10m) by the National Bed Federation as this year’s awards, which took place in Birmingham in September.
Just six years on since we featured on BBC’s hit show, Dragons’ Den, and three years after launching our first mattress collection, we scooped this highly regarded and coveted award by the bed industry, overcoming UK-wide competition.
Our first collection of luxury mattresses, aptly named the Hilary Devey Collection, has continued to make waves across the industry, having been voted 2016’s “Best Mid-Priced Mattress’ by The Independent, who said: “It feels like it should cost three times as much”, as well the Metro commenting that it is “the closest I’ve come to sleeping on air.”
This year also saw the collection receiving the Good Housekeeping Institute endorsement, scoring an impressive (and rare) nine out of ten.
Not resting on our laurels, we’ve launched our second mattress collection at this year’s NBF show. Modern, fresh and current, the Rosalia Collection offers a contemporary take on the artisan bed-making techniques that we use. Offering a range of sleep-inducing features that won’t break the bank, we continue the tradition of using only the finest natural materials, including blends of luxury materials including cotton, wool and cashmere.
“Since our Dragon’s Den experience and Hilary’s investment, our company has grown significantly and this latest award win, just three years after launching our first collection is testament to the effort the whole team has put in to offering a new take on the bed manufacturing industry.” said, Alan Colleran, Managing Director at Duvalay.
“Hilary has put a great deal of time into the company, providing invaluable knowledge, which has helped to move Duvalay on to the next level. Her input into the Hilary Devey Collection has helped the brand to secure a number of accolades and reviews by leading experts within the homes & interior industry.”
As the only company to launch a lightweight mattress for leisure vehicles, which saw us win an exclusive contract to supply The Swift Group, we continue to look at ways to push forward on innovate additions that improve the quality of a night’s sleep for our original customer base.
2017 has also been the year that we started production of the Duvalite Apollo Luxe and Duvalite Gravity Luxe, which brought our new ‘cool sleep’ concept – FreshTec – to the market. A premium alternative to memory foam, FreshTech, not only offers pressure relief and first-class comfort, but also actively fights heat retention.
