The recent earthquake in Turkey has caused widespread devastation and displacement across the country, leaving many people without access to basic necessities such as shelter and warmth. In response, many businesses, including ours, have stepped up to help provide aid to those affected by the disaster.
When news of the earthquake in Turkey broke, we knew that we had to help in some way. Our Duvalay Sleeping Bags have been used in similar disaster reliefs before, to provide a bed and comfort to those in need. Without our own means of transporting the Sleeping Bags to Turkey, we immediately began to assess how we could make this possible by consulting with aid organisations, eventually finding out about the incredible charity, Hope4.
Hope4 is a not-for-profit organisation which supports lives tragically impacted by poverty, crime, and conflict. The charity is continually looking for companies to connect with to make generous donations to send to countries in need, such as Turkey – this is something we knew we were able to help with!
After discussions with Hope4, we quickly got our team to work, making and packaging 200 Duvalay Sleeping Bags ready to send to Hope4’s hub and then on to Turkey. Due to the built-in mattress topper base, our Duvalay Sleeping Bags are ideal for use in situations when a bed isn’t readily available to someone. They can simply be rolled out anywhere and provide a comfortable and warm place to sleep.
"We are beyond delighted and proud that, alongside other incredible businesses, we have been able to assist Hope4 in their efforts to help some of those impacted by the tragedy in Turkey," says Elizabeth, Sales & Marketing Director at Duvalay. "The positive impact they have on so many lives is absolutely amazing and incredibly inspiring."
"We’d like to send out to a special thank you to our valued suppliers, SMK Textiles and Vitafoam, who generously donated materials to make the donated Duvalay Sleeping Bags."
Once again, a huge well done to Hope4 for their amazing work!
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those impacted by the tragedy.
