Duvalay is giving Spain and Portugal the luxury comfort it’s been dreaming of as it launches its- award-winning brand with the help of Kent-born childhood sweethearts Nick and Jo Ounstead.
Nick, who was the CEO of Topps Tiles for 16 years, and Jo who was an Associate Director at Fidelity Investments and more recently a psychotherapist with her own private practice, have a well- rounded and sturdy combination of sales, marketing, product development and project management backgrounds. With their strong collective experience, they are poised to build a successful Duvalay agency in Spain and Portugal to expand sales across Europe.
Having been fortunate enough to travel across the globe, the couple’s profound love for holidaying has given them more than enough time to linger over the necessity of a portable, comfortable, simple sleeping solution!
The couple met Liz and Alan Colleran at the wedding of Duvalay’s Australian partners, Neil and Dee Hobbs, and remained in contact with them. The Ounsteads moved to Portugal in 2015 and soon recognised the gap for Duvalay’s prized products in the enormous boating, caravan and camping industry.
Jo commented: “Nick and I are confident that there is a tremendous market for Duvalay products throughout Spain and Portugal. Since moving to Portugal, we’ve seen so many northern European travellers that have headed south for the winter, resulting in an enormous amount of campervans and motorhomes in the region every year with a massive number of campsites and motorhome parks to accommodate the wide range of domestic and international travellers.
“The holiday home and rental markets are also huge, not to mention the boating community, which means there are plenty of well-stocked marinas on the Iberian coastline. We’re extremely excited to be the official Duvalay agency for Portugal and Spain, and we’re sure that the industry will fall as in love with Duvalay as we have.”
