It's a big award win for Duvalay Co-Founder

Our Co-founder, Elizabeth, was recently named the winner of the everywoman Hera Award, celebrating the most inspirational woman running a business trading for ten years or more.

The everywoman Awards recognise women entrepreneurs from across the UK, and this year focussed on those who are showing creativity and resilience that will help Britain weather the current economic storm.

Elizabeth says: "Duvalay has been on an incredible journey since we founded the company in 2003 and continues to go from strength-to-strength. over the last twenty years I've worked side-by-side with my husband to build the business from scratch. We now employ over 100 people and distribute products as far as Asia and the USA.

"While Alan concentrated on the innovation and manufacturing side of the business, I have focussed heavily on developing our brand, marketing and sales opportunities, and negotiating distribution deals across the globe, as far away as South Korea. As a people person, this customer-centric role has really allowed me to play to my strengths and help build Duvalay into the brand it is today within the sleep market.

"Every award we have won in the past has meant so much to us, however, this one is certainly very special on a personal level. Women have a lot to juggle; from running a house, to raising children, along with building our career. I love how the everywoman Awards celebrates these inspirational women and recognises just how much we bring to the business world.

"Being selected by a panel of judges as the winner of the Hera Award, after being shortlisted alongside some of the best women entrepreneurs I have had the pleasure to meet, is one of my proudest career achievements".

Everywoman is one of the UK's leading women-focused organisations which, over the last two decades, has helped to bring about record levels of female employment and drive down the gender pay gap in the workplace - striving for equality for women in business.

The awards have built a community of female business owners and exemplary role models to share knowledge and ideas, connecting them with advisors, peers and potential investors.
